Türkiye, Libya jointly probing aircraft crash that killed Libya's army chief, seven others

Libyan Criminal Investigation Department chief Major General Mahmoud Ashour, along with a delegation, paid a visit to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on Thursday, as a joint probe into Tuesday's plane crash that killed Libya's army chief continued.

"The Chief Public Prosecutor Gokhan Karakose, together with deputy chief prosecutors and public prosecutors assigned to the investigation, briefed the Libyan delegation on the ongoing probe," the prosecutor’s office said in a statement.

The statement added that both countries reaffirmed their willingness and determination to work jointly on the investigation, and that information could be shared within procedures provided for by the relevant legislation.

An aircraft carrying Libya's army chief, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ali Ahmed al-Haddad, and seven other people crashed in Türkiye's Haymana District in Ankara Province on Tuesday, killing all the occupants on board.
