Authorities say a “limited incident” caused temporary halt, deny drone attack claims

Emirates Resumes Flights After Brief Suspension at Dubai Airport

Emirates resumed flights on Saturday at Dubai International Airport after a short suspension of operations earlier in the day.

The Dubai Media Office confirmed that the airline restarted operations in the afternoon and advised passengers with confirmed bookings to proceed to the airport. The airline also said transit passengers traveling through Dubai could continue their journeys if their onward flights were operating.

Earlier, the airport had temporarily halted flights to ensure the safety of passengers, staff, and airline crews. Emirati authorities later clarified that the suspension followed a “limited incident” that resulted in no injuries.

Officials denied social media claims that the airport had been targeted by drone attacks and said the situation had been handled by relevant authorities, though they did not disclose further details about the incident.

The brief disruption comes amid rising regional tensions after Iran launched missiles and drones toward Israel and several Gulf states hosting US military bases following strikes by the United States and Israel on Iranian targets. Those strikes reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other senior officials.
