Suspects questioned as family continues to demand answers

New Developments in Gülistan Doku Case

In Tunceli, authorities have taken new steps in the long-running investigation into the disappearance of Gulistan Doku. Four of the 13 suspects have completed their procedures with the gendarmerie and were sent to court after medical checks.

Outside the courthouse, Gülistan’s mother, Bedriye Doku, made emotional statements, urging authorities to find those responsible. She expressed deep frustration and pain, saying she only wants to recover her daughter’s remains and has vowed not to leave until she gets answers.

The case dates back to January 2020, when Gülistan, a university student, suddenly disappeared. Her family reported her missing after losing contact with her, and despite extensive searches and investigations, no clear outcome has been reached so far.

Recently, as part of the investigation led by the Tunceli Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 13 individuals were detained, including people connected to the case such as her boyfriend and others linked to key allegations.

The case has remained unresolved for years, drawing public attention and concern. For the family, however, the focus remains simple: finding the truth and bringing closure to a painful and ongoing uncertainty.
