Suspicious cargo from the UK to Israel seized amid arms restrictions

Belgium Blocks Undeclared Military Shipments

Authorities in Belgium stopped two shipments at Liege Airport after discovering undeclared military equipment on board.

The cargo, which had departed from the United Kingdom and was heading to Israel, reportedly contained fire control systems and spare parts for military aircraft. Officials said these items were not properly declared, which triggered the seizure and a judicial investigation.

According to regional authorities in Wallonia, one of the companies connected to the shipment is Moog Inc. The company is believed to produce parts used in M-346 training aircraft for Israeli pilots and has reportedly sent similar shipments before.

Investigators found that at least 17 shipments linked to the same company had passed through Liège Airport on their way from the UK to Israel.

This incident comes after Belgium introduced an embargo on January 23 to block the transport of weapons and military-related equipment to Israel. The current investigation aims to determine whether the shipments violated these restrictions.
