Advisory follows breakdown of nuclear talks and growing fears of potential U.S. strike on Tehran.
The U.S. Embassy in Israel has authorized the voluntary departure of its staff as regional tensions escalate over the possibility of a U.S. military strike on Iran.
U.S. Ambassador Mike Huckabee informed embassy personnel on Friday that those wishing to leave the country may do so immediately. In an internal message, he advised staff to act promptly, warning that while commercial flights remain available for now, options could become limited in the coming days. The communication stressed that there is no immediate cause for panic but encouraged proactive planning.
The advisory comes in the wake of the collapse of nuclear negotiations between Washington and Tehran, heightening uncertainty across the region. Several airlines, including KLM, have suspended flights from Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion International Airport, while other foreign missions in Israel and neighboring countries are reportedly preparing similar contingency measures.
The move reflects growing diplomatic caution as geopolitical tensions in the Middle East intensify.
