Partnership with Berklee College of Music brings free intensive boot camp to 100 emerging creatives in Lagos.
Nigerian music star Tiwa Savage is expanding her influence beyond the stage with the launch of the Tiwa Savage Music Foundation, an initiative designed to nurture and equip Africa’s next generation of music talent.
In partnership with the prestigious Berklee College of Music, the foundation will host a free four-day intensive boot camp in Lagos from April 23–26, 2026, targeting 100 emerging creatives. The program will provide hands-on training in music production, songwriting, harmony, and ear training, while also addressing the business side of the industry — including publishing, copyright, and entertainment law.

Participants will perform in live ensembles, with standout talents potentially earning scholarships to Berklee’s Boston campus or access to online courses. Speaking to CNN, Savage emphasized the need for structured opportunities, noting that while Afrobeats has gained global recognition, sustainable growth requires greater access to education and industry knowledge.
With Afrobeats streams surging by 500% on Spotify and Sub-Saharan Africa’s recorded music revenues surpassing $110 million, the initiative seeks to bridge the gap between raw talent and global competitiveness — without the prohibitive costs often associated with international music schools.
Savage, herself a Berklee alumna, has also expressed ambitions to establish a permanent music institution in Nigeria, aiming to create long-term infrastructure that fosters ownership, opportunity, and professional excellence for future generations.
