Türkiye Says NATO Defences Intercept Iranian Ballistic Munition

Türkiye announced that a ballistic munition launched from Iran and entering Turkish airspace was intercepted and neutralised by air and missile defence systems belonging to NATO in the Eastern Mediterranean.

In an official statement, the Turkish Ministry of National Defense said the country is taking all necessary measures to respond decisively to any threat against its territory and airspace.

The ministry added that consultations are ongoing with the relevant country to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Officials also stressed that Türkiye is closely monitoring regional developments and evaluating them with national security as the top priority.
