Turkish Navy trains Libyan cadets in the North African nation's coastal city of Al Khums

Türkiye provided naval training to cadets from the Libyan Naval Academy as part of ongoing cooperation between the two countries, the Republic of Türkiye's Ministry of National Defence said on Tuesday.

In a post shared on US social media company X, the ministry said naval frigate TCG Orucreis, deployed with the Turkish Maritime Task Group, conducted port-based and at-sea training programmes under the coordination of the Joint Training Centre Command in the coastal Libyan city of Al Khums.

The programme, held on December 4-6, included practical seamanship drills and onboard instruction aimed at enhancing the operational skills of the Libyan cadets.

A ceremony was held at the conclusion of the training to present certificates to the participating students.
