The Turkish defence ministry says its naval forces personnel are carrying out duties to train and support the Senegalese Armed Forces.
The Ministry of National Defence of Turkey has announced that its Naval Forces are conducting search-and-rescue training flights in Senegal
According to the statement, Turkish personnel are operating within Senegal’s search and rescue zone to provide training and operational support to the Senegalese Armed Forces
The activities include training flights over Senegalese airspace and maritime areas, aimed at improving coordination and operational capabilities. On March 12, 2026, joint flights focused on reconnaissance, surveillance, and maritime monitoring were carried out with the participation of Senegalese aircrew
The initiative is intended to enhance cooperation, build mutual trust, and strengthen defence ties between Türkiye and Senegal, particularly in areas related to maritime safety and emergency response
