Türkiye’s ambassador to Sudan announced the resumption of the airline’s flights to Port Sudan.

Turkish Airlines resumes flights to Sudan for first time since war broke out

Turkish Airlines has resumed direct flights to Sudan after a 29-month suspension prompted by a civil war in the country.

Sudan has been embroiled in a civil war between the army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 2023, which has claimed tens of thousands of lives and displaced millions according to UN agencies.

Türkiye’s ambassador to Sudan announced the resumption of the airline’s flights to Port Sudan, the country’s largest port city.

""With these flights, the Turkish people and Türkiye have once again stood by their friends in difficult situations,” Ambasaddor Fatih Yildiz said.

‘Demonstrate friendship’
