Drone attacks spark fires at a logistics facility in Ukraine's Kiev region and industrial facilities in Russia's Ryazan region.
Russia and Ukraine have exchanged overnight strikes that injured four people in Ukraine and one in Russia, officials on both sides said on Thursday.
Russian drones struck the cities of Dnipro and Samar in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region, injuring three people, damaging homes and starting fires at critical infrastructure sites, regional military administration head Oleksandr Hanzha said on Telegram.
In the Kiev region, a Russian strike on a logistics facility injured one person and set the site ablaze, Ukraine’s emergency service said.
Ukraine’s General Staff accused Russia of launching two missiles and 128 drones overnight. Ukrainian forces shot down or otherwise neutralised 105 of the drones, it said.
‘Massive’ drone attack
In western Russia, Ryazan Governor Pavel Malkov said one person was injured in a “massive” Ukrainian drone attack.
Falling debris started fires at industrial sites in the city of Ryazan, and damage to power lines left parts of the city without electricity. A school cancelled classes after its windows were shattered, he said.
Malkov also reported damage to homes in the Ryazan district and a fire at a non-residential building in the Rybnovsky district.
The Russian Defence Ministry claimed 496 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones were intercepted or destroyed over Russian territory, annexed Crimea, the Sea of Azov, and the Black Sea.
The figures provided by the two militaries could not be independently verified.
