The announcement was made during a visit of senators to the state governor on Sunday.

Nigerian senators donate salaries to accidental drone attack victims

Nigerian senators have donated their December salaries to victims of an accidental drone attack from the Nigerian military that killed 88 people and injured at least 60 others in Kaduna, North-West Nigeria.

The donated sum amounted to N109 million ($137,945), according to Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, who made the announcement while visiting the state governor, Senator Uba Sani, on Sunday.

The Nigerian army has issued an apology over the misfire that targeted a religious gathering in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on December 3.

Ismail Mudashir, an assistant to Senator Jibrin, said the money would be sent to the victims through the state government.

The attack has been heavily condemned, with Nigerian President Bola Tinubu calling the incident "disturbing" and ordering an investigation.
