Four Killed in Alabama Police Chase Crash

Four people died late Friday in Pike County, Alabama, after a car being pursued by police went off the road and hit a tree. Authorities said the group was traveling in a 2022 Hyundai Elantra when the driver attempted to flee from highway patrol officers.

The victims included driver Tykevious D. Russaw, 27, of Eufaula, and passengers Robert D. Hall, 27, and Quamay Richardson, 24, both from Clayton. A 17-year-old passenger was also killed, though their name has not been released.

Officials noted that three of the victims were not wearing seat belts and were ejected from the vehicle. The crash remains under investigation, and no details have been released on what prompted the pursuit.
