Angola stands out with appearances in each of the last six World Cups, making them the continent's most consistent qualifier.
Momentum is building across Africa as the road to the 2027 FIBA World Cup in Qatar heats up.
Following the first qualifying window held in Tunisia last November, eight more countries now enter the race.
The second window runs from 26 February to 1 March, with two groups set to compete across two host cities.
Group B features Côte d'Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, and Senegal. Dakar's Marius Ndiaye Gymnasium will serve as the stage, with Senegal hosting.
Group D brings together Angola, Egypt, Mali, and Uganda. Egypt will host at the Borg Al Arab Sports Hall in Alexandria.
Global representation
There is serious pedigree in this window. Four of the eight teams, Angola, Côte d'Ivoire, Egypt, and Senegal are former AfroBasket champions. All four have also represented Africa at the World Cup, most recently at the 2019 and 2023 editions.
Angola stands out with appearances in each of the last six World Cups, making them the continent's most consistent qualifier.

On the other end of the spectrum, Madagascar is stepping into the World Cup qualifying campaign for the very first time.
The format is straightforward. The top three teams from each of the four qualifying groups will advance to a second round, where 12 nations will compete for Africa's five spots in Qatar.
This means every game in this window carries weight a slow start could be the difference between advancing and watching from home.
With a blend of established powerhouses and newcomers, Window 2 promises competitive basketball across both venues.
Twelve games. Six days. And for some of these teams, the margin between a World Cup campaign and an early exit starts here.
