Turkish president says attacks persist despite October 10 truce secured through diplomatic efforts.

Erdoğan Accuses Israel of Violating Gaza Ceasefire

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has accused Israel of escalating military operations in Gaza and the occupied West Bank despite a ceasefire that came into effect on October 10, 2025.

Speaking during an iftar dinner in Ankara, Erdoğan stated that Israel continues to disregard international law and intensify its campaign, even after what he described as a truce achieved partly through Türkiye’s diplomatic mediation. He emphasized that Palestinians in Gaza are observing Ramadan under severe hardship, breaking their fast in damaged shelters while enduring ongoing insecurity.

Erdoğan also highlighted alleged restrictions on humanitarian aid entering through the Rafah crossing, calling for greater international accountability. Since Israel’s offensive began on October 8, 2023, Gaza health authorities report more than 72,000 deaths and over 171,000 injuries. Officials in Gaza say alleged ceasefire violations have continued to claim lives despite the truce.
