Türkiye and Niger have strengthened their bilateral relations through the signing of four significant agreements during high-level talks held in Ankara.
The agreements were signed under the auspices of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Niger’s President Abdourahamane Tiani, marking a new phase in cooperation between the two countries.
The signed documents cover higher education, diplomacy, healthcare, and economic cooperation, reflecting the growing strategic partnership between Ankara and Niamey.
The agreements include:
- An Implementation Protocol for the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Higher Education, Research and Innovation for the period 2026–2030.
- A Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomacy Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye and Niger’s National Institute for Diplomatic and Strategic Studies.
- A Protocol on the Joint Operation and Transfer of the Niger–Türkiye Friendship Hospital.
- A Joint Declaration on the Establishment of the Türkiye–Niger Economic and Trade Joint Committee (JETCO).
Officials emphasized that the agreements will contribute to sustainable development, institutional cooperation, and stronger diplomatic ties between the two nations.
