New protocol strengthens military cooperation and capacity-building efforts between the two countries
Turkish National Defense Minister Yaşar Güler welcomed Niger’s Defense Minister Salifou Mody in Ankara with an official military ceremony, marking a new step in bilateral defense relations.
Following the ceremony, the two ministers held both one-on-one and delegation-level meetings to discuss areas of mutual cooperation and strategic partnership.

The visit culminated in the signing of a key agreement titled the “Protocol on On-Site Training Support between the Government of the Republic of Türkiye and the Government of the Republic of Niger.” The deal aims to enhance military capacity through training programs and institutional collaboration.
This agreement reflects growing defense ties between Türkiye and Niger, particularly in the areas of security cooperation and professional military development, as both countries seek to strengthen their strategic partnership.
