Senegal's bank creditor committee has chosen Houlihan Lokey as its financial adviser, four people told Reuters, as the West African nation pushes ahead with plans to rework its debt.
Senegal last month announced plans to restore debt sustainability using an "enhanced" G20 Common Framework, which it hopes will speed up the process.
Separate creditor committees for commercial banks and regional development institutions — alongside the standard groups representing bilateral lenders and bondholders — are part of that process, according to a presentation to creditors seen by Reuters.
The government said in the presentation that it had met with bank creditors on September 25, and lenders subsequently formed a committee.
Houlihan Lokey also advises bondholder groups in Lebanon and Venezuela.
