Trump Arrives in Ankara Ahead of NATO Summit, Welcomed by President Erdoğan

After disembarking, Trump briefly spoke with President Erdoğan before greeting the Turkish Presidential Guard in Turkish, saying, "Merhaba asker" ("Hello, soldiers"). The two leaders later posed for an official photograph in the State Hall.

Trump's two-day visit will focus on strengthening relations between Türkiye and the United States. During bilateral meetings, the leaders are expected to review cooperation in defense, trade, investment and other strategic areas, while also exchanging views on regional and global developments.

On the second day of his visit, President Trump will participate in the NATO Summit, including the official welcoming ceremony, the traditional family photo and the NATO leaders' working session.

Trump is also expected to hold separate bilateral meetings with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa.

The U.S. president is scheduled to conclude his visit with a press conference on Wednesday evening before departing Ankara for Washington.
