T3-TÜBA-KÜME book examines AI through a national technology lens

T3 Foundation, the Turkish Academy of Sciences (TÜBA) and KÜME Foundation have introduced a new volume examining artificial intelligence from technological, strategic and social perspectives. The work was prepared with contributions from 38 scientists, researchers and experts and was presented at a program held at Karaköy Palas in Istanbul.

The book is organized into three main sections and 25 chapters. It is designed as a broad reference work on the transformative effects of artificial intelligence across science, technology, the economy, education, public administration and social life.

Its subjects range from the development of artificial intelligence from traditional systems toward superintelligence to big data, processors and large language models. The volume also addresses AI geopolitics, international cooperation, innovation networks and the effects of the technology on sustainability, labor markets and communication systems.

A separate part of the work focuses on Türkiye’s current capacity and strategic goals in artificial intelligence. Among the topics covered are the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy, the integration of AI with the National Technology Movement, the present and future of regulation, and T3 Foundation projects including T3AI, TEKNOFEST and T3 Gemstone.

The social and cultural dimensions of AI are also examined. The book covers AI governance, the transformation of societies, artificial general intelligence, quantum technologies, human-AI cooperation, education systems and the future of work.

The launch program included opening remarks by T3 Foundation Chair Dr. Elvan Kuzucu Hıdır, KÜME Foundation Chair Abdullah Eren and TÜBA President Prof. Dr. Muzaffer Şeker. A panel moderated by Dr. Ozan Ahmet Çetin brought together Prof. Dr. Ercan Öztemel, Prof. Dr. Zafer Evis and Dr. Abdulkadir Taşdelen for discussions on artificial intelligence and national technology.
