Conflict between Sudanese army and RSF forces forces families to seek safety in White Nile State.
The UN International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported that 570 civilians were displaced from Kadugli, the capital of South Kordofan, between January 8 and 10 due to escalating insecurity. The displaced families have moved toward areas in White Nile State in southern Sudan.
IOM described the situation in Kadugli as “tense and volatile” and said its teams are continuing to closely monitor developments. Between October 25 and December 30, 2025, the number of displaced people across Sudan’s three Kordofan states—North, West, and South—had risen to 64,890.
Fighting has intensified as clashes continue between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF). The RSF controls most of Darfur, while the army holds large parts of the remaining states, including Khartoum
