Spanish premier to continue to Yerevan after minor fault
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez’s official Airbus A310 was forced to make an emergency landing in Ankara on Sunday due to a minor technical issue while en route from Madrid to Yerevan for the European Political Community summit. According to Spain’s EFE news agency, Sánchez will spend the night in Ankara before continuing his journey early Monday. Officials stressed that the malfunction was minor but protocol required the landing. Sánchez previously missed a Ukraine meeting in Paris in September 2025 due to another aircraft fault, when his Falcon jet had to return to Madrid mid‑flight.
