Only a handful of Nigerian players have surpassed the 200-goal mark in professional football.

Nigerian striker Osimhen hits record 200 career goals

Victor Osimhen has reached a major career milestone after scoring his 200th professional goal in Galatasaray’s emphatic 4–0 win over Kayserispor.

The Nigerian striker converted a penalty to double Galatasaray’s lead and also provided an assist in a commanding performance, further highlighting his influence in attack.

Osimhen’s goals have come across several clubs in Europe, including 76 for Napoli, 20 for Belgian side Charleroi, 18 for Lille in France, and 51 so far for Galatasaray in Türkiye.

On the international stage, Osimhen continues to rise in Nigeria’s scoring charts. With 35 goals for the Super Eagles, he now ranks as the country’s second-highest scorer, just two goals behind the late Rashidi Yekini’s long-standing record.

Only a handful of Nigerian players have surpassed the 200-goal mark in professional football. Yekini is credited with around 483 goals in his career, while Odion Ighalo has scored over 219 goals for club and country.

Former Everton and Portsmouth striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni also finished with 215 career goals, including a record 95 in the English Premier League.

Reaching the milestone further cements Osimhen’s status among Nigeria’s elite forwards, with his peak years still ahead of him.
