The Israeli army on Saturday shelled a village in southern Syria and later opened fire on residential areas during a separate ground incursion,Alikhbaria TVreported.Israeli artillery struck the outskirts of Abidin village in western Daraa province.There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.Abidin lies in the Yarmouk Basin in western Daraa, and was repeatedly targeted by Israeli artillery in September.Israeli occupation forces also entered an area west of Sayda al Hanout village in southern Quneitra province with two tanks and other military vehicles, and opened fire toward residential neighbourhoods.Israel continues violations on Syrian territory since the fall of the Bashar Assad regime in late 2024.Syrian President Ahmad Al Sharaa raised the issue at the 81st UN General Assembly, saying Israel carried out about 500 air strikes and artillery attacks, more than 1,200 incursions and roughly 300 arrests and detentions since late 2024.
