Thousands flee Abu Haraz and Kazgil in two days
The UN migration agency said Sunday that 2,600 civilians fled Abu Haraz and Kazgil in Sudan’s North Kordofan state over two days due to deteriorating security. The displaced have moved to Sheikan district, where the situation remains volatile. Sudan’s war between the army and the Rapid Support Forces has already displaced 13 million people and killed tens of thousands since April 2023. With fuel shortages, famine risks, and ongoing violence, the latest displacement underscores the worsening humanitarian emergency and the urgent need for protection and aid.
