The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has revealed the presenters for the prestigious CAF Awards 2025, which will take place on 19 November at the Mohammed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat.
Multi-Grammy-winning singer Angélique Kidjo and Moroccan comedian and actor Tahar Lazrak, known as Oualas by his fans, will be hosting the star-studded night that honours the best of African football stars and officials.
According to CAF, the pairing was carefully chosen to embody the artistic diversity and cultural reach that define modern African creativity.
“Together, this complementary duo underscores CAF’s ambition to stage an awards ceremony that celebrates not only sporting achievement but also the rich cultural talent of Africa,” CAF said in a statement.
Music heavyweight
For Kidjo, stepping onto one of African football’s biggest stages is another chapter in a legendary career. A true global ambassador for African artistry, the Beninese superstar has spent more than three decades redefining world music with her signature fusion of vibrant African rhythms and boundary-pushing sound.

With five Grammy Awards, 16 albums, and over 180 songs, she has performed on the world’s most illustrious stages and collaborated with stars including Alicia Keys, John Legend, and Burna Boy.
Her influence extends well beyond the stage. Kidjo was named one of Time Magazine’s 100 most influential women in 2021; she serves as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and is a prominent advocate for women’s rights, education and the preservation of African cultural heritage.
Rising Moroccan star
Joining her is Oualas, a comedian, actor, and showman whose rising popularity in Morocco and across Africa has made him one of the continent’s most recognisable entertainment personalities.
Oualas, famous for his talent for improvisation and a humour style that resonates across generations, has made him one of North Africa’s most beloved performers.

“Oualas will add warmth, energy and flair to an evening dedicated to honouring the finest in African football,” CAF says in its announcement.
The CAF Awards 2025 will see some of the most prestigious honours handed out to the top football players and officials. These include Men’s and Women’s Player of the Year.
There will also be a Goalkeeper of the Year award, an Interclub Player of the Year to recognise standout performers in African club competitions, and a Coach of the Year to celebrate tactical excellence.
Rising talent will be acknowledged through the Young Player of the Year accolade, while the National Team of the Year and Club of the Year awards highlight collective strength at both national and club levels.
