Four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan were killed in the attack, says Saudi aviation authority.
At least 12 people have been killed and 309 others injured following a Houthi militia strike targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the Saudi civil aviation authority confirmed.
Those killed include four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, and one national each from the United States, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Palestine, and Sudan, according to the aviation authority.
Emergency medical personnel transferred the 309 wounded individuals to nearby hospitals across the capital, where several remain in critical condition.
The strike caused substantial physical damage to terminal infrastructure, with technical teams continuing site inspections to determine the full extent of the destruction.
Aviation disruptions
Airport authorities temporarily suspended all flight operations immediately after the attack to conduct emergency damage assessments and verify facility safety.
The suspension triggered major disruptions across regional air corridors, with passengers advised to consult airlines before travelling to terminals.
Kuwait Airways cancelled all Saturday flights to and from Riyadh, citing the emergency closure.
The strike comes amid heightened regional volatility following a sustained series of cross-border missile and drone attacks launched by Houthi militias against Saudi airports and critical infrastructure in recent days.
