Türkiye boosts security measures while warning of wider regional war.

Erdogan Calls for Diplomacy as Iran Conflict Escalates

Recep Tayyip Erdogan has cautioned that rising tensions linked to the conflict involving Iran could destabilise the entire Middle East.

Speaking in Ankara, Erdogan described the current situation as reaching a “terrifying level” after recent air strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory attacks across the region.

He noted that missile and drone strikes directed toward neighbouring countries raise fears that the conflict could spread beyond its current fronts.

The Turkish president said Türkiye is maintaining heightened security along its borders and airspace while pursuing diplomatic initiatives aimed at preventing further escalation.

Ankara, he added, will continue working with international partners to encourage dialogue and restore regional stability.
