Military says operations across several regions destroyed dozens of vehicles and weakened militia forces.
The Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) say they have caused major losses to the militia led by Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo during recent military operations across Sudan.
According to a statement broadcast by the state media outlet Sudan News Agency, the army targeted militia fighters and equipment in several regions over three days. In the Kordofan region, the military said it destroyed 56 vehicles and killed or wounded hundreds of fighters. In Darfur, another 47 vehicles were reportedly destroyed during ongoing clashes.
The army also reported fighting in the Blue Nile region, where four vehicles were destroyed and dozens of fighters were killed or injured. In addition, the military said it destroyed fuel depots and ammunition storage sites used by the militia.
The conflict in Sudan began in April 2023 between the national army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces. Since then, the fighting has caused massive destruction, forced millions of people to flee their homes, and created a serious humanitarian crisis across the country.
