Club legend departs after record-breaking career and trophy-filled legacy
Mohamed Salah is set to leave Liverpool FC at the end of the season, bringing to a close one of the most successful eras in the club’s modern history.
Since his arrival from AS Roma in 2017, Salah has transformed into a defining figure at Anfield, playing a central role in Liverpool’s resurgence on both domestic and European stages.
Over eight seasons, he scored 255 goals in 435 appearances, becoming the club’s third all-time top scorer behind Ian Rush and Roger Hunt. He also registered 119 assists, equalling the Premier League record for Liverpool set by Steven Gerrard.
Salah’s impact extended beyond numbers. He became the fastest Liverpool player to reach 100 league goals, set a club record of 53 goals in European competitions, and scored the fastest goal in the club’s UEFA Champions League history. He also delivered in key fixtures, notably scoring 16 goals against Manchester United, including a historic hat-trick at Old Trafford.
During his time at the club, Salah helped Liverpool secure major honours, including two Premier League titles, the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.
Individually, he matched Thierry Henry’s record with four Premier League Golden Boots and earned multiple Player of the Season awards.
On the international stage, Salah has remained a key figure for Egypt national football team, scoring 65 goals in 113 appearances.
His departure marks the end of a remarkable chapter for Liverpool—defined by consistency, silverware, and a legacy that will stand among the greatest in the club’s history.
