Former Malaysian PM Mahathir hospitalised after wife's death

Mahathir Mohamad has been admitted to Malaysia’s National Heart Institute for observation a day after his wife, Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, died aged 100.
Malaysia's former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad was admitted to a hospital following the death of his wife, state media reported on Wednesday.Mahathir was admitted to the National Heart Institute (IJN) for observation on Tuesday,Bernama news agencycited his son Mukhriz Mahathir as saying.The 101-year-old statesman was admitted a day after the death of his wife, Siti Hasmah Mohd Ali, at the same hospital.Siti Hasmah died on Monday at IJN at the age of 100 after her condition deteriorated following a heart attack and was laid to rest later that day.Mahathir and Siti Hasmah, both doctors by training, were married for 70 years and had seven children.
